This presentation will look at climate change over different geological time periods including today; it will question the concept of an ‘average’ value for complex systems and whether climate change is a cause or a result. Data mainly from Australia, will illustrate how recent and past events have or have not been affected by human and/or natural CO2 emissions and whether or not the ‘average’ world climate health is getting better or worse. Some of the inconsistencies in the way data is presented will be touched on together with an exploration of the idea that CO2 is a pollutant.
