AIG NSW – Work Health and Safety (WHS) ComplianceWorkshop: Work Health and Safety (WHS) Compliance – responsibilities and how they apply to Exploration (1:00 to 4pm on Thursday the 27 June). Course length: Approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. The workshop will target the small exploration companies in NSW that operate under the requirements of the WHS (MPS) legislation. It is suitable for team members who are seeking to improve their understanding about what a person conducting a business (PCBU) and its various duty holders should be doing to ensure a safe place of work. The content of the workshop will focus at a general level on the Parts of the WHS (MPS) legislation that may be relevant to exploration, the requirement to have a safety management system and how a basic fit-for-purpose system can help to ensure that key aspects of the legislation are managed and implemented in the field. SpeakerKerrie Edwards The workshop will be delivered by Kerrie Edwards – Principal Health and Safety Consultant (ROJO Emergency and Safety Training Pty Ltd). Kerrie has over 25 years experience working nationally and internationally in the field of HSE and risk management, in a wide range of industries including mining and exploration. In the last several years she has become very familiar with the NSW WHS (MPS) legislation and is keen to share this knowledge in a way that makes sense for the field of exploration.
