Abstract

Bendigo is a world renowned gold province with two main styles of mineralisation; free gold in quartz and sulphide hosted gold. The aim of this honours project was to determine what the style of mineralisation associated with anomalous gold assays in drill core as well as the associated host and alteration mineralogy. These aims were investigated using XRF, LA-ICPMS and thin section analysis of drill core previously obtained in the Lockington area.

Allison completed her bachelor degree in 2015. She then took on an honours project looking at sulphide mineralisation at Lockington under the supervision of Andy Tomkins and Steve Micklethwaite. Since completing her honours project she has been working at Fosterville Gold Mine.
