The discovery of Constellation by Aeris Resources

Constellation is a greenfields Cu-Au discovery made by Aeris Resources and located 45 km NE of their Tritton Mine. On 26 November 2020, the first of three drillholes designed to test an EM plate with low to moderate conductance intersected semi massive sulphides. TAKD001 intersected 19.95m @ 2.41% Cu, 0.64g/t Au from 197.2m. In the 12 months since then drilling has traced the mineralisation – starting at 3m below surface and extending down plunge for 1,000m. Ian will talk through the steps Aeris took to get to drillhole TAKD001.

Ian Baillie is one of the journeymen of geology. He has survived recessions and redundancies and, in spite all of this, still finds himself in the game. His career started in 1984 at Doradilla and 37 years later, after exploring in every Australian state and 14 other countries -from New Zealand to North Korea, is back to within 100 km of where it all began. Ian is part of the regional exploration team at Tritton with Aeris Resources and was fortunate to be at the drill rig when the first hole at Constellation intersected the blind, green-fields copper-gold deposit.
