Ayesha Ahmed
Ayesha Ahmed is an applied geochemist/geologist with over 15 years’ experience in academia and industry. Her current role is as Senior Geochemist with Teck Resources, based out of Vancouver. She is passionate about integrating innovative analytical techniques with fundamental geoscience concepts to maximize value from data; leading to improved rock characterization for targeting, modelling and mining. Prior to this position, Ayesha obtained her MSc from MDRU (2010; University of British Colombia) and PhD from CODES (2019; University of Tasmania, Australia). She also spent 5 years working in the goldfields of Australia where she was part of a team that discovered a multi-million ounce gold deposit, fueling a passion for discovery and innovation. Ayesha is an active member of the geoscience community, and a strong advocate for the inherent strengths of a diverse workforce.
