Armelle Kloppenburg
Armelle is a Dutch structural geologist, trained at Utrecht University, with a PhD on the Archaean structural development of the Pilbara granite-greenstone terrain in W.A.
For the last 10 years she is set up in Holland – just above sea level – as a freelance consultant for applied structural geology, with a mix of clients, commercial, surveys and universities around the globe.
She constructs digital structural models on all scales – in 2D, 3D and 4D – using geometric validation principles and kinematic techniques, for a range of commodities and project stages, across tectonic settings worldwide. She also enjoys mentoring and she gives short courses.
When at home she keeps bees and runs a reliable taxi service for three ice-hockey playing kids.
Her favourite addition is whisky and chocolate-covered coffee beans.
