Date(s) - Tuesday, 21/02/2017 - Thursday, 23/02/2017
Gold17 will take place in Rotorua, New Zealand, from 21st to 23rd February 2017. The meeting continues the regular series of gold events that commenced with Gold’82 in Zimbabwe and has continued since in southern Africa, Australia and the Americas.
This is the first time the event has been held in New Zealand.
The meeting will focus on developments in gold mineral systems, exploration technologies, opportunities and Pacific Margin geology and mineralisation.
There will be a technical programme, special sessions, workshops, and pre- and post-symposium excursions will provide a comprehensive programme.
The Symposium is organized with support from professionals in the universities, mineral and geothermal industries, and their service providers. The symposium committee will be working with all relevant New Zealand and Australian societies and organisations.
Extended abstracts for papers presented at the conference will be included in a bulletin to be published by AIG.
Papers drawn from this symposium may be submitted for publication in a Special Issue of the Journal of Applied Earth Sciences (Transactions). (This is optional.) We encourage all participants to submit a paper to this industry-focused journal, perhaps something a little different to that normally published in the highly academic journals. The Special Issue editors are Neil Phillips and Julian Vearncombe. Please register your interest at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Two field trips:Waihi Gold Mine and White Island; are currently proposed and will proceed on the basis of delegate interest. Please refer to the conference brochure and register your interest by email (email@example.com)
