GOLD24 Short Course: Microscopic Gold, Reflected Light Microscopy and Paragenesis

This refresher investigates reflected light microscopy and mineral paragenesis, detailing petrographic characteristics of common sulphide/gold minerals. There will be hands and eyes on practical use of UWA microscopes and a series of specially chosen polished sections. Or bring your own!

Rowena Duckworth

Rowena is an experienced petrographer/ geologist with over 25 years of post-doctoralexperience in the exploration and mining industry in Australia and overseas. She is highly skilled in petrography, mineral and textural identification and micro-analysis, and has extensive knowledge of most mineral systems including VHMS, epithermal, porphyry, IOCG, and intrusion related gold deposits. She has worked in academia, industry and runs her own petrography consulting business.
