About the presenter

Pete began his career in the contaminated land industry as a hydrogeologist with engineering firm Coffey, where he gained experience working alongside a variety of drilling techniques.

In 2008 he started Matrix Drilling, a family business now operating 14 drill rigs in the environmental, geotechnical and resource industries. Matrix Drilling has recently added a Boart Longyear LS250 sonic rig to the fleet and Pete will be explaining how the sonic drilling works, the pros and cons of the sonic method and answering the question – “Is sonic the silver bullet the drilling industry has been waiting for?”
