32 CPD HoursGranites: crustal evolution and mineralisation.

This field symposium is being held in the heartland of Chappell and White’s I- and S-type granites in eastern Australia.

It will provide a semi-formal environment for presentations and discussion on granites, their role in crustal evolution and mineralisation, with field trips to classic locations.

The updated symposium brochure is available here.  Watch the symposium web site and this page for updated information as the symposium date approaches.

Benalla is 200 km from Melbourne up the Hume Freeway, 680 km from Sydney, 3-4 hours from Canberra, virtually all on freeways.  Train is a sensible option, Benalla is on the Melbourne – Sydney line and all trains stop in Benalla.

As a rural city there may be pressure on accommodation. We recommend that you book accommodation early. For an incomplete list of motels, hotels, cabins and camp sites visit www.benallageology17.com.au

A community event, featuring talks on granites in Victoria and a half-day field trip, has been scheduled during the conference.  Details are available here.
