Historical and Emerging Contaminants

An ALGA NSW – Newcastle Branch Forum

Please join us for an evening where we look into the recent (and ongoing) local issues surrounding both lead and perfluorinated compounds (PFCs, including PFOS/PFOA) in the Newcastle area. Given the recent and ongoing developments surrounding these contaminants, we will hear discussions from health and environmental industries into these local issues.

Highlights will include a discussion in regards to lead contamination and the adopted remediation strategy in Lake Macquarie, an overview of emerging technologies for remediation of PFCs in soil and water, as well as where risk assessments are at for PFCs and the growing concerns surrounding these contaminants.

The forum will feature presentations from:

  • Dr Craig Dalton – Hunter New England NSW Health
  • Dr Annette Nolan – Enviropacific Services
  • Ruth Jarman – EnRiskS
