3D Model of deposit lithology constructed in Leapfrog Geo

This introductory course aims to enhance attendees’ data analysis and communication skills through the application of Seequent’s Leapfrog Geo software, an industry-leading 3d modelling and communication package. The training is suitable for Leapfrog Works users as the core products are essentially identical and the peripheral differences between Leapfrog Works and Leapfrog Geo will be reviewed during the course.

The hands-on training will include a major overview of software functionality on a training dataset then will move on to attendees working up real-world datasets on the last day to practice skills and investigate some advanced features of the software. Attendees will be able to apply the analysis to their own dataset during the course if desired.

The training will explore the relationships between lithology, oxidation/alteration and structure to investigate controls on metal distribution and hence develop exploration potential and resource understanding.

The underlying principles behind the software’s application and the modelled geological parameters will be discussed as will ways to develop optimisation of modelling outputs. There will be a focus on relaying findings and geological understanding to peers using the software during the course so be prepared to communicate!

No prior knowledge of this software or 3d modelling is assumed but attendees are required to
provide their own PC hardware and are expected to be reasonably proficient in using a PC in the
usual environments. A Leapfrog Geo soft licence will be provided to attendees by Seequent.

Guidelines for hardware suitability can be found here;
