Seminar details

In recent times we have been bombarded with stories on how machine learning and artificial intelligence will change how we do everything. The rapid growth of machine learning has been enabled by access to the ever-increasing capacity of modern computer processors and cloud computing. The mineral exploration and mining industry are no different and has started to embrace the new tools. For some it is already here, and for some it’s just another “black box”. So, what is Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, how will it change what we do, and where/who are the experts?

Themes include:

  • What is Machine Learning and what does it mean for the industry?
  • Data collection & manipulation
  • Automated drill-core logging and geological model building
  • Exploration targeting
  • Getting more from data and images

A great line up of speakers including: Tony Hampton (Imago), Steve Sullivan (Maptek), Warwick Anderson (OreFox), Andrew McCulloch & Richard Scott (Oz Minerals), Lauren Maxwell (Global Ore Discovery), Kane Maxwell (Peabody Energy), Prof. Rick Valenta (UQ SMI), John Anderson (Austrike Resources), Brenton Crawford (Solve Geosolutions), Marc-Antoine Laport (SGS), and many more! Full program available shortly. Preliminary Program is available for download in the flyer below.
