Chris Cairns completed a First-Class Honours degree in Economic Geology from the University of Canberra in 1992.

Chris has extensive exploration and mine development experience having worked for BHP Minerals in Queensland and the Philippines, Aurora Gold in Borneo, LionOre in WA and Sino Gold in China. He was the former Managing Director of Integra Mining Limited having taken Integra from successful WA gold explorer to producer.

In 2008 Integra was Resource Stocks Magazine’s ‘Australian Explorer of the Year’ and in 2011 was voted Paydirt Magazine’s ‘Gold Miner of the Year’. In January 2013, Integra was taken over by Silver Lake Resources Limited for an agreed $426 million.

Chris is a Member of JORC, is the Chairman of the Australian Prospectors and Miner’s Hall of Fame and is currently the founding Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Stavely Minerals Limited.

Earlier this year, Stavely Minerals was awarded the Craig Oliver Award for the Cayley Lode discovery at Thursday’s Gossan in western Victoria.
