Mount Isa Province – Stratigraphic Overview and Mineral Systems

Seminar to be held in Brisbane, convened by the Queensland Division of the Geological Society of Australia.  Discounted registration available to AIG members

Topics covered: The seminar, organised by the Queensland Division of the Geological Society of Australia, will present an up-to-date summary of the structural framework, lithostratigraphy, sequence stratigraphy, geodynamics and mineral systems of the Mount Isa Province in addition to preliminary results of recent deep crustal seismic and magneto-telluric surveys.

Target Participants: The new ideas, data and changes in interpretation of the geology will benefit geoscientists who have had extensive experience in this highly endowed Proterozoic mineral province, but it will also provide a comprehensive introduction to the geology of the province to students, recent graduates and other geoscientists new to Queensland geology.

Presenters: The seminar will be conducted by current and former geoscientists from the Geological Survey of Queensland and Geoscience Australia including Laurie Hutton, Ian Withnall, Paul Donchak, Peter Southgate, Bill Perkins, George Gibson and David Huston.
