Nick Gardiner will present this talk for the Centre for Exploration Targeting at the University of Western Australia.
Nick Gardiner is a Research Fellow at CET-Curtin Node. He has an undergraduate degree in geology from Oxford, a geochemistry MSc from Leeds, and then returned to Oxford to complete a DPhil in isotope and metamorphic geochemistry, working on large garnet schists from New England. After a number of years slaving in the commodities markets and failing to make his fortune, Nick returned to Oxford (and academia) to complete a postdoc working on the tectonic and metallogenic evolution of Myanmar. His research involves using isotopic and geochemical methods to unravel the tectonics and crustal evolution of terranes of interest, and then linking this to regional-scale metallogeny through mineral systems. At CET, he is involved in a range of projects across Australia and beyond. From his city life he retains an interest in minerals economics.
