Porphyry Systems

 

NExUS-Professional Development (NExUS-PD) workshops are very proud to be able to offer a one-day online workshop focused on porphyry Cu-Au (Mo) systems presented by discipline experts.

  • Sessions 1 and 2 are presented by Dr. Roger Taylor and will introduce porphyry ore textures (including principles of infill, alteration and brecciation), followed by a detailed summary of porphyry alteration styles and including overprinting high-sulphidation styles.
  • Session 3 is presented by Dr. Steve Garwin and will cover the characteristics of Type I and Type II porphyry systems including fluid evolution, zonation, and the importance of magmatic conditions, sulphidation-state and oxygen fugacity to the development of metal endowed porphyry systems.
  • Session 4 will discuss the importance of integrating geological and geochemical data for effective porphyry exploration and will provide work-flow examples, and time for discussion.
