Bulolo Gold Dredging historic film night.

This joint meeting with AusIMM will be a blockbuster ! We will be showing the feature-length historic film taken during the Bulolo gold dredging operations in PNG (1932-1942), including footage of the assembly and operation of the Junkers aircraft which transported the dredges (in 3t loads) from Lae to Bulolo. The film is silent and in black-and-white, and the author and historian Michael Waterhouse will be at the meeting and will provide a commentary. His mining engineer grandfather (Les Waterhouse) was one of the main visionaries and managers who made this iconic operation a huge success, and it was Les who took the film covering the life of the operation.
