The “One Belt One Road Project” is a global development strategy adopted by the Chinese government involving infrastructure development and investments in 152 countries and international organizations in Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas. In total, US$1.3 trillion has already been initiated under the One-Belt One-Road banner. To compare it is more than seven times the size of the Marshall Plan, which triggered the reconstruction and then recovery of war-torn Europe almost 70 years ago.

The talk will discuss where the Australian Mining industry currently stands including an overview of mining production and mining exports. It will present perspective of Australian Mining in the One belt One Road Project – opportunities and threats.

Important Notes
Take the time to go through the SMEDG website – you never know what you will find, and it contains a trove of useful information and diversions – you will never know what entering something into the search engine on the top right of the page will turn up until you actually do it!.
Unfortunately there will be no subsidised drinks at this meeting
