Mark the 3rd and 4th of December in your diaries for the third seminar in the Geochemistry in Exploration series hosted by the WA Branch of the AIG in Perth. This will be a two-day event, with presentations on the first day and tours of various Perth facilities on the second day.

This event will showcase new, exciting, multifunctional techniques for continuous, non-destructive, high resolution, rapid throughput drill core scanning either on-site or in a lab. It will also feature methods available at Perth’s world-class research institutions that you may not have thought about including in your exploration program.

The core scanning techniques will include:

  • X-ray elemental methods such as Minalyze’s Minalyzer CS
  • Combined X-ray tomography and XRF methods like Orexplore’s GeoCore X10
  • LIBS elemental methods such as Elemission’s Coriosity
  • Hyperspectral imaging using Corescan’s HCI and TerraCore’s HCI
  • Multi-sensor core logging platform by Geotek

The Maia Mapper and other facilities at the CSIRO Drill Core Lab will be featured, as will various methods available at the John de Laeter Centre, Curtin University and at the Centre for Microscopy Characterisation and Analysis, UWA.
