The Bundarra Pluton – Exploring for copper in the coal fields

Synopsis:

The Bundarra Pluton is a multi-phase Cretaceous intrusive with lode-bearing style porphyry mineralisation situated in the Bowen Basin 100 km southwest of Mackay. The area was historically mined in the 1800 – 1900s with the ore processed on site through the Valkyrie copper smelter. Duke Exploration has been exploring the 50 km strike extent over the past three years to been understand the geology and identify copper – silver deposits of significant scale. In 2021 Duke classified an inferred resource over Mt Flora and began exploring the surrounding area to identify additional mineralised zones around the Bundarra Pluton.
