Energy and Earth Resources Victoria | The Energy and Resources portfolio is part of the Department of State Development, Business and Innovation within the Victorian State Government. This includes policy development, legislative and regulatory reform, investment facilitation and the implementation of key government initiatives relating to the energy and earth resources sector. |
Geoscience Australia | Geoscience Australia is Australia’s national geoscience organisation, providing a wide range of geoscience and topographic mapping information. |
Geological Survey of NSW | The Geological Survey of NSW provides information to government, the exploration and mining industries and the community about the state’s geology and mineral resources. |
Geological Survey of Queensland | The Geological Survey of Queensland (GSQ), as part of the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, provides geoscience and resource information to improve the understanding of the geology and minerals and energy resource potential of Queensland, and promotes the geoscientific data and exploration potential to attract investment. |
Geological Survey of South Australia | GSSA’s mission is to deliver pre-competitive geoscience data to the exploration and mining industry and wider community and to provide advice across government and to the community on state geosciences, land use planning and geohazards. The Geological Survey of South Australia (GSSA) is part of the Mineral Resources Division of DMITRE. |
Geological Survey of Western Australia | GSWA publishes reports, maps and databases describing the geology of Western Australia. |
Mineral Resources Tasmania | Mineral Resources Tasmania (MRT) is a Division of the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources. The purpose of MRT is to give effect to government policy in relation to minerals and petroleum resources, and the Division provides essential information for land management in Tasmania. The focus of MRT is to produce and promote up-to-date geoscientific information on Tasmania as an aid to the mineral and petroleum exploration industries, other government agencies and the general public, in order to improve Tasmania’s economic position, and to promote sustainable land-use planning and environmental management. |

OneGeology | OneGeology is an international collaborative project in the field of geology supported by 113 countries, UNESCO and major global geoscience bodies. It is an International Year of Planet Earth flagship initiative that aims to enable online access to dynamic digital geological map of the world for everyone. The project uses the newly introduced GeoSciML markup language and initially targets a scale of approximately 1:1 million. The project portal was launched on August 6, 2008 at the 33rd International Geological Congress (IGC) in Oslo, Norway. |
U.S. Geological Survey | The USGS is one of the world’s leading public geoscience agencies, working in virtually every facet of geosciences in the United States and globally. |
USGS Geology | The USGS also has a specialist geology discipline home page that provides links to the vast range of geoscience data and services provided by USGS. |
Geoscience Organisations of the World | The Geological Survey of Japan maintains a Directory of Geoscience Organisations of the World that includes “major government/quasi-government organizations of the world relating to geological surveys and earth scientific researches.” They invite corrections or updates. |
