Hyperspectral & Geochemistry: Better Together

Sam Scher

Our guest speaker

Sam Scher

Sam is the principal consultant at LKI Consulting, a geochemistry and applied hyperspectral consulting firm that operates in the mineral exploration and mining industries. Sam is also the creator of the GeOCHemiSTea podcast, whose mission is to give a leg up to those that want to know more about geochemistry, as well as to provide a platofrm for established geochemists to talk about some of the issues of the day in an informal setting for the benefit of all geoscientists.

Sam received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Earth and Planetary Sciences with an emphasis in geochemistry and economic geology from McGill University (Montreal, Canada). Over the past ten years she has worked in the mineral resource sector as a geochemist, working for exploration companies and as a technology service provider. Her primary focus is exploring the linkages between geochemistry and spectroscopy, including the integration of these datasets in 3D-models and big data programs in mineral exploration and geometallurgical programs.
