Our guest speaker

Jocelyn McPhie

Jocelyn McPhie is an Australian volcanologist with ~35 years of experience working in diverse volcanic successions worldwide. She currently holds an Adjunct position as Professor of Volcanology at the University of Tasmania and consults to the mining and exploration industry through McPhie Volcanology. Her research has contributed to understanding how volcanoes work, especially submarine volcanoes, and unravelling connections between volcanic successions and ore deposits. Through her consulting operations, she helps the mining and mineral exploration industry to produce realistic geology models on regional, mineral district and deposit scales and provides professional training in volcanology for mining and exploration geologists.
