Our guest speaker

David Royle

Non-Executive Chairman, NickelSearch Limited (NIS:ASX) and international geological consultant

David Royle has extensive international experience in exploration for precious and base metals with major multinational resource companies and more recently with junior explorers spanning 47 years. His exploration teams have had a track record for the discovery of several significant mineral deposits in Australia, South America, and South-West Pacific through regional grass roots exploration.

Dave’s talk focuses on the careers of Australian geologists and their mineral discoveries in the Circum Pacific where they have been exposed to diverse and fascinating geology, people, and cultures.

Several examples of successful discoveries are examined… the journey will start in the jungles of PNG at the grassroot Tolukuma gold discovery and then move on to the Batu Hijau copper-gold discovery in Indonesia.

Dave will share some wisdom with us on the ingredients of success and exploration challenges in the future, including the important role of geologists.
