ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Mr Christopher Cairns completed a First Class Honours degree in Economic Geology from the University of Canberra in 1992. Mr Cairns has extensive mineral exploration and development experience having worked for BHP Minerals in Queensland and the Philippines, Aurora Gold in Borneo, LionOre in WA and Sino Gold in China.

Mr Cairns is best known as the former Managing Director of Integra Mining Limited. During his time at Integra the company made three greenfields gold discoveries and financed and built a 100,000ozpa operation east of Kalgoorlie. In 2008 Integra was awarded Explorer of the Year by Resource Stocks magazine and in 2010 was voted Miner of the Year in the Paydirt Magazine / The Gold Mining Journal annual awards.

In January 2013, Integra was taken over by Silver Lake Resources Limited for $426 million.

Mr Cairns has been a director of Stavely Minerals Limited since its incorporation.
