The post-closure use of quarries is a contentious topic in New Zealand.  There are a number of issues related to potential contamination, closure options and regulatory challenges that these pose.  Come along for a lunchtime forum at 12:30 PM for a 12:45 PM start at Duncan Cotterill, Victoria Street, Christchurch.

The Forum presentations will be from Ewan Chapman on Post Closure use of Quarries, and Nicola Peacock sharing Case Studies from Selwyn District.

Ewan Chapman is a Partner from Duncan Cotterill has been heavily involved in this area and will provide a view on some of the challenges from a legal and regulatory perspective.

Nicola Peacock from Malloch Environmental has worked on several former quarry sites in the Selwyn District and will provide some case studies illustrating some of the issues faced and how they can be managed.
