Mined and explored by one company from discovery in 1945 to mine closure in 1976, Lynn Lake is one of Canada’s most prolific nickel producing areas.

In April 2015 Corazon Mining Limited announced it had consolidated the Lynn Lake Mining Centre for the first time since mine closure. Corazon has since inherited an enormous amount of data from over 70 years of exploration and 24 years of mining. This data is predominantly in paper format.

Dr Larry Hulbert, who worked at Lynn Lake as a young geologist, has been instrumental in Corazon’s process of collating and exploiting this historical information.

The results of this work are incredible. They have provided new insights into the controls on mineralisation in the main mining centre leading to a revitalised belief in the prospectivity of the region.
