The Ayawilca Zinc-Silver-Tin project – Exploration history of a blind discovery in the Andes of Peru

TALK SYNOPSIS

The talk will be a review of the geology, geochemistry and geophysics of the Ayawilca zinc-silver-tin deposit, a large carbonate replacement deposit (CRD) in Peru. Graham will share some of his learnings in the exploration for these complex deposits.


Dr. Graham Carman is a geologist and exploration entrepreneur with many years of world-wide experience exploring for gold and base metals. He is President and CEO of Tinka Resources, a Canadian listed exploration company, and his team have advanced the Ayawilca zinc-silver project in Peru into one of the largest undeveloped zinc projects owned by a junior. He has worked throughout NSW, Queensland and WA during his time as MD of Paradigm Gold and previously BP Minerals and Kennecott. Graham completed his doctorate on the giant Lihir Island gold deposit in PNG in 1994.
