SMEDG Technical Talk November 2018

The Pilbara Gold Rush – Conglomerate-hosted gold in the Pilbara, Western Australia

Dr Quinton Hennigh, Chairman and President, Novo Resources Corp.

Meeting – Wednesday November 7, 5.30 for 6.00pm
Bass Room, Level 2, Bowling Club of NSW/Club York (95 – 99 York Street).

Novo Resources Corp, a Canadian-listed junior exploration company, came to the Pilbara in 2010 to explore for conglomerate-hosted gold deposits. Exploration was first focused in the East Pilbara at Beaton’s Creek where Novo applied a new geologic model leading to the discovery of a 670 Koz near-surface resource. Upon learning of the discovery of alluvial gold nuggets derived from Fortescue Group conglomerates near Karratha, the Company assembled a large land position in that area and commenced exploration in 2017. As an extension of the Karratha gold project, Novo has recently acquired ground at Egina where it sees significant exploration potential.
