The talk will cover an appraisal of hydrocarbon frontiers – Unconventional Natural Gas Reservoirs. The basis is global hydrocarbons and the unconventional reservoir spectrum. Issues like measuring gas volumes, production phases and production criteria will be addressed. Shale gas and coal seam gas sweet spots, shale gas metrics, methane hydrate characteristics and production, shale gas production and shale oil production will be covered.
To conclude, the implications for greenhouse gas emissions and likely effects on climate will be described.
