EGRU (Economic Geology Research Unit) at James Cook University, Townsville, is looking for 3 postdoctoral research fellows.

Two highly motivated postdoctoral Research Fellows  are sought to investigate the mineralisation and alteration, magma fertility, petrogenesis/geodynamic setting, and mineral prospectivity of the northern Bowen Basin / southern part of the Kennedy Igneous belt in NE Queensland. The postdoctoral researcher will engage with a multidisciplinary earth science team from academia, government and industry, and will work with a range of regional and local datasets; some of which are to be acquired through the course of the project using a wide range of analytical methods. The appointment is full-time for a fixed term of 3 years (Research) subject to a probationary period. The post will be based in Townsville.

The third position is available for a highly motivated postdoctoral Research Fellow to carry out regional-scale alteration mapping using remote sensing spectral techniques, build up and maintain GIS databases, provide GIS support to the team, and conduct GIS-based geochemistry data analysis and prospectivity analysis of the Kennedy Igneous Association in NE Queensland. The postdoctoral researcher will engage with a multidisciplinary earth science team from academia, government and industry, and will work with a range of regional and local datasets. The appointment is full-time for a fixed term of 3 years (Research) subject to a probationary period. The post will be based in Townsville.
